There's No Cryin' In Stylin': Tabatha's Salon Takeover

Hair salon owner and stylist Tabatha Coffey, star of the new BRAVO networks show Tabatha Coffey

Ten Salon Spa , in Long Beach, California, is owned by Kwana and Chris. Kwana has been a stylist for 20 years, they opened this shop 2 years ago.

He quit his job. They are in huge debt, and he knows nothing about the salon business. She is a control freak... can't keep customers. Tabatha brings in her own clients as spotters. The walk-in walks out...

They spent $750,000 on some sort of circular design, are $50,000 behind in rent on the shop, and are almost bankrupt.

David, front desk coordinator, has so many rules in the three manual rule book that he has to behave like a robot to remember his scripts. They lost 80 employees in two years.

Tabatha closes it down for a week.

Tabatha calls a staff meeting, without Chris and Kwana, and they talk about problems. Jennifer cries.

Some of them are so accustomed to a script they can't talk to clients on a human level.

Tabatha gets Kwana and Chris to shred the handbook.

The entire salon goes to a busy corner in Long Beach to give away haircuts and promote the salon. Chris is clearly not interested, and Tabatha counsels him.

Tabatha totally redesigns the salon. Kwana runs out dramatically crying, Chris running after her. Control freak losing control. But the next day, there are butts in the seats...all the seats. Chris is standing around, time for marriage counseling, with Tabatha. Basically she tells Chris to get a job.

Tabatha makes recommendations about the staff. Great show. Glad to see Bravo TV hasn't totally given up on quality programming.

Six weeks later, Chris is still there, but thinking about firefighters school.
