One Hot Mess: Tabatha's Salon Takeover

De Cielo Salon and Spa in Burbank is a tacky mess. The dryer chair sits on cinder blocks. The owner, Michael, bought the business without any salon experience of his own. He loses $2000.00 a month in revenue. His staff has no respect for him. Sharon the manicurist empties the pedicure bowl in the sink with a client getting a wash in the chair. Beyond belief.

Tabatha takes his keys and informs the staff. Stephen, Michael's ex and the salon manager, is overheard by Tabatha telling someone on the phone about Tabatha and her Shear Genius celebrity status, saying she's a blonde bitch. Dirt, hair and hair color is everywhere. The towels are molding in the dryer. Michael has an excuse for everything. A juvenile. sorry excuse. He's the guy always in trouble in school, and when called on it, just laughs.

Tabatha calls a staff meeting for 9:00 a.am. Everyone is there except Michael. Stephen lies when Tabatha calls him on his phone conversation. She gives them cleaning supplies , including yellow slickers, pointing out how good a color that is for Stephen, LOL. Michael finally shows, Tabatha has to talk to him like a kindergartner, so he calls her Cruella de Vile. Ugh. What a tranny mess he is!

The stylists, it turns out, have mad skills. Michael takes a nap in the facial room.

The next day, Tabatha sends the stylists out to sell the salon. The Vidal Sassoon Academy is the destination for Michael. All he is able to do is critique the director's clothing. The look on Tabatha's face...priceless. They try to teach him a simple cut, but it proves to be impossible. Tabatha loses her temper. She meets with the staff and tells them about the day with Michael, and informs them there is nothing more she can do except renovate the salon.

During the renovation, Michael looks like a deer in headlights as the stylists embrace the changes.

In a last ditch effort to work with Michael, she knocks on his door. He does the little kid contrite thing, promising to work with her..

The renovations are outstanding. Tabatha gives them an assistant for the day. Stephen is AWOL. He claims to have car troubles. He comes in and leaves. Love and work, do they ever mix?

Tabatha's final recommendations include having Stephen just give facials. She also gifted the stylists with classes at Vidal Sassoon.

Six weeks later, Tabatha returns, asks questions. Michael, like any little kid, has pulled back on his dedication. Of course. Will this salon thrive? Doubtful.
