More Love, Less Venom
Blondie's in Denver is the home salon of Tara Nalty, where they cater to a very feminine clientele featuring a method of styling they tag "Mac Daddy Blowout" using a series of brushes as they blow-dry.
Enrique Cruz, of Style lab in Dallas, works in a salon with all male hair designers, featuring punky, edgy cuts and colors. He is such an original he has named himself "El Cruz" He claims to be straight, adamantly (perhaps too?).
Day 1
Enrique walks in and immediately asks who will put out for $13 flowers. Everyone is offended.
Test: Asks first client to remove clothes.
"Mac Daddy Blowout" is his first task. The salon owner, Gina, accurately calls him a "legend in his own mind" he says something about the 80's hairstyling technique.
Salon owner Gina says he doesn't know how to talk to women. Fails test
He continues to hit on every client and stylist..trying to prove....what?
He is told to clean the bathroom, since he peed all over it...says that's a women's job, but he does it.
Day 2
He gets an assistant, Sarabeth, who is loving his flirting. ( and taking it too seriously)
He flirts with both Sarabeth and the client, but he does a good job on her hair. His next client, Libby Weaver, is a local newscaster. As he gives her a mac daddy blowout while looking down her shirt, he gives his life rules, one of which is "never pay off your dealer, he will always answer your call", and other gems of wisdom.
He does a good job, but Gina gets him to wear a pink tiara until he apologizes for his flirting.
Takeover Day
Everyone is late from partying the night before. Apparently the flirting worked on Sarabeth.
Cruz brings in male assistants, adding testosterone to the place. It does seem to add a vibrance to the atmosphere. The ladies loved ordering the guys around.
Final Test
Two Denver Nuggets cheerleaders are his clients. He flirts, more subtlety. One night stand Sarabeth looks upset.
The girls love the hair. Cruz likes the blowout and will take this skill back to Dallas.
He thanks them for teaching him about women...
Sarabeth cries.
Everyone loves everyone.
Tara Nalty walks into Style Lab, where she meets Marco and his ego. Tara finds the place wild and dirty, and sprays air freshener.
Day 1
Mark. color and cut He has many layers of color.She fails the test because there was not enough purple in the hair. ( I just report).
Day 2
El Cruz has a girlfriend(?) ...She wants designs in her half-shaved head on one side....She is pleased with the results.
Style Lab is having a fashion show that night. Tara enjoys getting the models ready. She wears an edgy, cute outfit and they put her in the fashion show. She looks great and has fun.
Takeover Day
Everyone arrives late from partying the night before.
Sarabeth calls Tara from Denver to "kiss and tell" so to speak. Since Tara has met the girlfriend, she feels uncomfortable.
Final Test
Rae, considered a demanding client of El Cruz..wants dark purples and blues in her hair. Tara does a fabulous job.
Tara serves" Blontinis", instead of beer. The female clients love it.
Everyone loves Tara, and she feels the same.
This episode is so unlike the Shauna and Krisanna smackdown.
